Maggie Fischer Memorial Cross Bay Swim

Swimmers, kayakers, and spectators in the 2025 event enjoyed almost perfect conditions: light winds, fairly flat seas, an incoming tide, and mostly cloudy skies. One hundred fourteen swimmers entered and completed, the front runners finishing in near record times. Many personal bests were recorded. A record crowd enjoyed the festivities at Gilbert Park, and a record number of  people watched on our tracking app Racejoy. We raised and distributed $120,000 to our charities. Thanks to everyone who helped make this year memorable in many ways.   Planning begins now for the 2026 event, which will mark 100 years of The Cross Bay Swim. Plan to be with us!

The start is spectacular every year. We invite anyone who can get to the start to join us on the beach or on the dock to witness the event. The Fire Island Lighthouse is also available.  If you are interested, call the Lighthouse at 631-583-5901
